Hi Heiner Utsch,

interessante Frage. Habe ich mir noch nie Gedanken drüber gemacht ;-)

travel guide - Reiseführer - Karten, Bücher etc.

tour guide - Reiseführer - der Mensch, der Touren begleitet

So habe ich das immer verstanden. Was sagen ENS dazu

Hi@all,
As an ENS, I would agree with that:
Travel guide - definitely the book (or file as the case may be): http://www.nomadicmatt.com/travel-guides/

Tour guide (US) / Tourist guide (European) - the person: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tour_guide

"Tourist guide = person who guides visitors in the language of their choice and interprets the cultural and natural heritage of an area, which person normally possesses an area-specific qualification usually issued and/or recognized by the appropriate authority"

http://www.dict.cc/englisch-deutsch/tour+guide.html
