Fasziniert von dieser Gestalt und allem, was mit Feuer assoziiert wird, experimentierte er in seinem Feuerpoem mit dem Einsatz von Lichteffekten, indem er an oberster Stelle der Partitur eine Luce-, eine Licht-Stimme notierte, die in Übereinstimmung mit der Musik auf einem Farbenklavier ( Tastiera per luce ) gespielt werden sollte.
Dafür entwickelte er nach mystischen Vorstellungen ein System korrespondierender Farben und Klänge, das an Quintenzirkel und Lichtspektrum ausgerichtet ist.
Der Luce-Part besteht aus zwei Stimmen, von denen die obere den musikalisch-harmonischen Ablauf des Werks verdeutlicht, während die untere Trägerin der von Skrjabin den Farben zugeschriebenen mystischen bzw. esoterischen Bedeutung ist.[2]
