Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, and subtropical or tropical moist shrubland found around the equator.
Because the serto lies close to the equator, temperatures remain nearly uniform throughout the year and are typically tropical, often extremely hot in the west.
In the magnetotail, however, particle trajectories seem to constantly reshuffle, probably when the particles cross the very weak field near the equator.
