Results achieved so far In recent years, over 50 conservation areas covering more than 200,000 square kilometres have been established and equipped by the Brazilian Government.
This is an area similar in size to Great Britain.

Ausgangssituation Mit einer Fläche von 180 Millionen Quadratkilometern nimmt der Pazifik etwa die Hälfte der globalen Meeresoberfläche und ein Drittel der gesamten Erdoberfläche ein.
Zu den 22 pazifischen Inselstaaten und Territorien gehören mehr als 200 gebirgige Vulkaninseln und etwa 2.500 flache Inseln und Atolle.

Context With a surface area of 180 million square kilometres, the Pacific makes up around half of the global ocean surface and a third of the earth’s total surface.
The 22 Pacific island states and territories include more than 200 mountainous volcanic islands and approximately 2,500 flat islands and atolls.
