Two Jubilees of the Redemption
During the papacy of Pope John Paul II, two Jubilees of a universal character have been celebrated: the first, in 1983-1984, commemorated the 1950th anniversary of the Redemption, while the second, in 2000, marked the two thousandth anniversary of Christ? s birth.
For both these Jubilees, the meditations and prayers of the Good Friday Way of the Cross were composed by the Holy Father himself.
