Die Kardiologen des HDZ NRW arbeiten daher seit Jahren mit der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Hypertonie und Prävention eng zusammen und sind an der Entwicklung einheitlicher Behandlungsleitlinien maßgeblich beteiligt.
Seinen besonderen Dank richtete Prof. Horstkotte an Oberarzt Dr. Siegfried Eckert, der als ausgewiesener Europäischer Hypertoniespezialist, Kardiologe und Diabetologe erster Ansprechpartner der Klinik zum Thema Bluthochdruck ist und die Zertifizierung zum Exzellenz-Zentrum maßgeblich begleitet hat.
Eckert ist zudem Experte für interventionelle Behandlungsmöglichkeiten des Bluthochdrucks.

Prof. Horstkotte extended his particular thanks to Senior Physician Dr. Siegfried Eckert who, as a certified European hypertension specialist, cardiologist and diabetologist, is the primary contact partner within the Clinic for all matters relating to hypertension and who was instrumental in its certification as a center of excellence.
Eckert is also an expert for the interventional treatment of high blood pressure.
