Der Fliegerschiessplatz Axalp / Ebenfluh wurde jedoch zur Ausbildung der Flugzeugbesatzungen im Gebirgseinsatz weiterhin beibehalten – bis in die heutige Zeit.
Im Sommer 1945 wurde östlich des Hinterhorn, durch Planie und Aufschüttung einer Geröllhalde, der Bau einer Sommerpiste von 15 x 250 m gebaut.
