Im Mittelpunkt seines 1689 für die Eröffnung des Opernhauses in Hannover komponierten » Divertimento drammatico « steht eine schöne Frau namens Deianira, in die sich gleich zwei Männer verlieben – die aus der griechisch-römischen Mythologie bekannten Figuren Herkules und Acheloo.
Ein Zweikampf (»la lotta«) soll schließlich die Entscheidung in diesem Liebeskonflikt bringen.
Die Premiere der jetzigen Neuinszenierung findet am Sonntag, 16. Oktober, in der Aula der Neuen Universität statt.

The new production of this opera under the direction of Rüdiger Drengemann (music) and Waltraut Kunz (production) premieres on Sunday, 16 October, 5:00 p.m. in the Great Hall of the New University.
