If the Greeks first responded to the crisis in a manner characteristic of the country by tightening the belt, closing ranks and taking their fully-fledged children back into the nest, by now most of them have recognised the lack of economic prospects.
For those who returned home after studying abroad and have now lost their jobs, it is natural to leave again.

Reagierten die Griechen auf die Krise erst einmal in landestypischer Manier, indem sie den Gürtel enger schnallten, zusammenrückten und ihre flüggen Kinder wieder im Elternhaus aufnahmen, ist den meisten mittlerweile die wirtschaftliche Perspektivlosigkeit klar geworden.
Für diejenigen, die nach ihrem Auslandsstudium in die Heimat zurückgekehrten und nun ihren Arbeitsplatz verloren haben, liegt es besonders nahe, das Land wieder zu verlassen.
