The European Commission, in conjunction with the European Securities and Markets Authority, confirmed this week that it will apply to the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission ( the CFTC ) for a substituted compliance assessment to be undertaken on EU rules in respect of the CFTC ’ s entity level and transaction level requirements for swaps.
