The research of Professor Zaccone aims to understand the relationship between molecular interactions and the dynamical collective behavior of condensed matter systems, including macroscopic properties.
Modern methods of theoretical physics are used, backed by computer simulations, to obtain insights into the mechanical response, the morphology and the phase transition behavior of disordered atomic and molecular solids (e.g. metallic glasses, amorphous polymers, etc.), colloidal suspensions and other complex fluids, and biomolecular self-assembling systems.
Professor Zaccone studied at Politecnico di Torino and completed his MSc thesis at TU Berlin.
