Ein „klassischer“ Gitarrenamp in Röhrenbauweise besteht im wesentlichen aus zwei bis vier Röhrenstufen im Preamp, einer (meist passiven) Klangregelstufe, einer weiteren Röhrenschaltung zur Ansteuerung der Endstufe und letztlich der Endstufe an sich.
Sicher kann man hergehen und ein Messsignal an den Eingang des Amps anbringen und selbiges am Ausgang oder an einzelnen Stufen wieder abgreifen.
