Algae beneath the Sea Ice
Bei einem Tauchgang hat der Untereis-Roboter namens Ronia der Meereisphysiker dieses Bild von Algen aufgenommen.
Unter dem Eis können Kieslealgen meterlange Ketten bilden - im Sommer 2012 konnten die Forscher dies erstmals auch bei einjährigem Eis nachweisen.

During a dive the under-ice robot going by the name of Ronia took this image of algae.
Diatoms can form metre-long chains beneath the ice – in the summer of 2012 the researchers were able to demonstrate this for the first time also in one-year ice.
