Am Institut für Leistungselektronik und Elektrische Antriebe liegt ein Forschungsschwerpunkt auf der potentialfreien Erfassung von Strömen, wie sie in der Leistungselektronik gegeben sind.
Die dabei entwickelten Strommesszangen messen sowohl statische als auch dynamische Ströme sehr präzise.
Es wurden drei Geräte für die Messbereiche ± 200 A, ± 800 A und ± 3000 A zur Messung von Gleich- und Wechselströmen beliebigen Verlaufs entwickelt.
