Die paulinische Anthropologie kann, wie der interdisziplinäre Dialog der letzten Jahre gezeigt hat, zur Überwindung der dualistischen Spannungen zwischen konventionellen philosophischen oder theologischen Anthropologien, die man als „ mentalistisch “ bezeichnen kann, und neueren naturwissenschaftlichen Denkansätzen, die einen – zuweilen materialistischen – Szientismus vertreten, beitragen.
Die Fruchtbarkeit der Anthropologie des Paulus wurde lange durch den paulinischen Dualismus von „ Geist und Fleisch “ verdeckt.

The interdisciplinary dialogue of the last years has shown that Pauline Anthropology is able to contribute to overcoming dualistic tensions between the conventional philosophical or theological anthropologies, which can also be described as “ mentalistic ”, and the more recent scientific approaches, which represent an – at times materialistic – scientism.
The richness of the anthropology of Paul has long been conveyed by the Pauline dualism of “ spirit and flesh ”.

Mit meinem Dissertationsprojekt versuche ich in dieser Debatte eine Perspektive jenseits der Pole Szientismus und Dualismus bzw. Metaphysik auszumachen.
Hierzu entwickle ich aus den Philosophien Diltheys, Foucaults und Cassirers einen erkenntnistheoretischen Ansatz, der die neurowissenschaftliche Forschung zum menschlichen Bewusstsein auf zwei Ebenen kontextualisiert.

This is, because these exceptional themes and experiences (e.g. ufos, crop circles, alternative healing, occultism etc.) frequently touch upon ideological foundations and scientific principles.
