Die Neubenennung des Schwerpunkts mit dem Begriff Governance (vormals Wohlfahrtsmärkte und Regulierungsstaatlichkeit) folgt der Einsicht, dass institutionelle Verknüpfungen zwischen Marktlichkeit, Staatlichkeit und anderen Grundformen gesellschaftlicher Steuerung den Kern einer Transformation von Sozialpolitik ausmachen.
