Der Anhaltische Kammermusikverein hat sich gegründet, um das kulturelle Leben der Region Anhalt und der Stadt Dessau-Roßlau mit dieser besonders kostbaren Art des Musizierens zu bereichern.
Ende der 90er Jahre, rief er eine Kammermusikreihe in der Dessauer Marienkirche ins Leben, die sich – so offen sich die Reihe programmatisch auch gibt – auch bekenntnishaft zu den Werken von Komponisten aus Anhalt und Dessau stellt.
