Für das Rhein-Main-Gebiet wurden die Betriebe türkischer und iranischer Selbständiger aus den Bereichen Einzelhandel, Gastronomie und haushaltsorientierte Dienstleistungen in Stadtteilen mit besonders hoher Konzentration ausländischer Bevölkerung kartiert ;
mit anschließenden standardisierten Befragungen und qualitativen Interviews wurden die wesentlichen Bestimmungsgründe des "ethnic business" erfaßt, für welche in Deutschland bislang nur wenige Studien vorliegen.
