Die Graduiertenschule richtet sich an besonders begabte Studierende mit einem Bachelor-Abschluss in Physik und führt in 5 Jahren über den Master-Abschluss ( in Physik oder Astrophysik ) direkt zur Promotion.
Die Abschlüsse sind der M.Sc. with honors in Physik oder in Astrophysik, Dr.rer.nat. (PhD äquivalent) in Physik oder in Astrophysik.
Für Studierende des Dipomstudiengangs Physik gelten Übergangsregelungen.
www.physik.uni-bonn.deSelected on the basis of a B.Sc. degree ( or equivalent ), honors students enter an advanced study program which leads directly to the PhD by combining the M.Sc. program directly with the doctoral research phase.
The degrees obtainable from the school will be M.Sc. with honors in Physics or in Astrophysics, Dr.rer.nat. (PhD equivalent) in Physics or in Astrophysics, with the distinction of having passed through a challenging program.
For students in "Diplom-Physik" comparable transitory regulations exist.

Die Bonn-Cologne Graduate School of Physics and Astronomy BCGS ist eine von der Bund-Länder-Kommission ausgezeichnete Exzellenzeinrichtung, die ein gemeinsames Graduiertenstudium (honors program) der beiden Universitäten Bonn und Köln fördert.
Ab dem 1.11.12 sind alle Studierenden der Master- und Promotionsstudiengaenge in Physik und Astrophysik Mitglieder der BCGS, sofern sie dem nicht widersprechen.
