Bevor Helene ans DIW Berlin kam, arbeitete sie für das Jameel Poverty Action Lab ( J-PAL Europe ) und Crest Paris an einem randomized field experiment über die Betreuung von französischen Lehrlingen.
Sie interessiert sich für den Gebrauch von Mikroökonomik und Ökonometrie zum Zwecke der Politikevaluierung, insbesondere für experimentelle und verhaltensökonomische Ansätze.

Before joining the DIW Graduate Center, Helena worked for a randomized field experiment of the Jameel Poverty Action Lab ( J-PAL Europe ) and Crest Paris, aiming at improving counselling of apprentices in France.
She is interested in the use of microeconomics and econometrics for policy evaluation ( especially social and environmental policy ), for this purpose she is particularly interested in experiments and behavioural economics.

www14.informatik.tu-muenchen.deEine erste Evaluation des CM an der ipw im Jahre 2005 ( „ erste Generation “ CM1 ) zeigte einen Rückgang der Hospitalisationstage und Symptombelastung bei CM-Patientinnen und -Patienten im Vergleich zu einer retrospektiv gepaarten Kontroll-Stichprobe.
Diese ermutigenden Ergebnisse führten zu einer Fortsetzung des Projektes, das im Unterschied zur ersten Studie als Randomized Controlled Trial ( RCT ) mit klar definierten Ein- und Ausschlusskriterien von „ heavy users “ konzipiert wurde.
Seit 2007 wird die CM-Studie der „ 2. Generation “ ( CM2 ) durch die ZHAW, Departement Angewandte Psychologie an der ipw in Winterthur durchgeführt.

These encouraging findings led to a continuation of the project, which in contrast to the first study was designed as a randomized controlled trial ( RCT ) with clearly defined inclusion and exclusion criteria of heavy users.
Starting in 2007, the CM Study, 2nd generation ( CM2 ) is being conducted at ipw by the School of Applied Psychology of the ZHAW.
