The official awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on 28 January 2011 in the Swedish parliament.
The Stockholm-based Olof Palme Memorial Fund for International Understanding and Common Security awards this annual prize for 'outstanding achievement' in honour of the Swedish politician Olof Palme.
