Pianist Dionisio Ramón Emilio Valdés Amaro, better known as Bebo Valdés, is a key musician from the golden age of Cuban music.
He started his career as a pianist in one of the most popular bands of the time, Julio Cuevas’s band, for which he composed the mambo “La rareza del siglo”.
Bebo joined Armando Romeu’s band in Tropicana, the most famous cabaret in Cuba.
