Kommt es bei deren Einnahme zu Unverträglichkeitsreaktionen oder liegen entsprechende Kontraindikationen vor, können auch parenterale Bisphosphonate eingesetzt werden.
Bei Männern mit fortgeschrittener Osteoporose bzw. nach Frakturen unter laufender antiresorptiver Therapie besteht bei hohem Refrakturrisiko die Möglichkeit einer knochenanabolen Therapie mit Teriparatid ( PTH 1 – 34 ).
