Am Ruhrufer in Schwerte ( heute 52.000 EW ) wurde 1890 eine Pumpstation errichtet, die zur Wasserversorgung der wachsenden Großstadt Dortmund diente.
Die Station wurde 1924 wieder aufgegeben.

In 1890, a pumping station was erected on the bank of the Ruhr in Schwerte ( pop. today 52,000 ), which served to supply the expanding city of Dortmund with water.
The station was abandoned in 1924.
