Bereits im darauf folgenden Jahr studiert er an der Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie bei Bruno Goller, 1964 wechselt er in die Klasse von Joseph Beuys.
Seine Ähnlichkeit mit dem amerikanischen Mafioso Blinky Palermo ist ausschlaggebend, diesen Namen als Pseudonym anzunehmen.
1965 stellt er erstmals offiziell unter diesem Namen aus.

Super-Start in die Ausstellungssaison 2009 für Onkel “ Muffin ” ( Downtown Dulce Mafioso ) und Nichte “ News ” ( Deacon Brodies Who Knows? ) bei der CACIB Nürnberg:
News gewann gegen starke Konkurrenz das CACIB ( ihr zweites in Deutschland ) und Muffin konnte sowohl seine Nichte als auch eine Reihe von jungen, schon sehr erfolgreichen Rüden wieder in die Schranken verweisen und gewann das BOB ( aus der Ehrenklasse ).

We had a great start into show year 2009 at the Int All-Breed Show in Nuremberg for uncle “ Muffin ( Downtown Dulce Mafioso ) and niece “ News ” ( Deacon Brodie ’ s Who Knows? ):
News won the CACIB against a good competition; and Muffin not only beat his niece, but also a bunch of successful young dogs showing that he can still compete and won the BOB.
