Im Herzen des Mozartplatzes steht die berühmte Statue, die im Beisein der Söhne Mozarts am 5. September 1842 von seinem Erbauer Ludwig Schwanthaler enthüllt worden war.
Das Mozartdenkmal (dessen Standort zunächst diskutiert worden war) weist heute den Weg in die bekannten Einkaufsstraßen Salzburgs – hier erledigte Mozart vor 250 Jahren seine Besorgungen!
Auch gastronomisch ist der Mozartplatz einen Besuch wert:
