Jenseits der Penninischen Front sind die metamorphen alpinen Schichten eingangs durch ihren schlammigen Detritius dargestellt, der sich in dieser Zone am Fuß der altertümlichen Alpen angehäuft hat, die flach war ( den Mont-Blanc gab es noch nicht ).
Schlamm und Geröll sind heute in Schiefer-Breccien mit Kalk , Glimmer und Quarz ( Licony , Crammon … umgewandelt .
Mehr im Osten kreuzen dann die tiefen Täler der Drance und der Dora in Valdigne mit ihren schwarzen Kohlenstoffschiefern, die weiße kristalline Körper enthalten, die Abhänge des Großen St. Bernhard.
