Die lokalen Feuerwehren in den Naturschutzgebieten der Sierra Madre Oriental wurden unterstützt.
Angeschafft wurden Werkzeuge zur Brandbekämpfung, persönliche Schutzausrüstung, Quads sowie stationäre und mobile Funkgeräte.
Die Brigaden wurden individuell aus- und fortgebildet, gemäß den offiziellen Zertifizierungen für Feuerbekämpfung der mexikanischen Bundesregierung.
