Das Weitwinkelobjektiv HR Digaron-W 40 mm f / 4 entspricht beim Sensorformat 37x49 mm im Bildwinkel einem 28-mm-Objektiv für das Kleinbildformat und beim Sensorformat 40x54 mm sogar einem 26-mm-Objektiv.
Seine Schnittweite von ca. 25 mm bietet Freiraum zwischen der hinteren Fassung und dem Sensor zum Verschwenken, ohne am Sensor oder an der Rückteilstandarte anzustoßen.
Das Auflagemaß von ca. 70 mm läßt bei allen Fachkameras das Fokussieren auf unendlich mit flacher Objektivplatte zu, was das Einstellen von Blende und Verschlußzeit erleichtert und die Verwendung des Rollei-Electronic-Verschlusses erlaubt.

Its back focal length of approx. 25 mm leaves free space between the rear mount and the sensor for shift and tilt movement without touching the sensor or the rear standard.
The flange focal length of approx. 70 mm allows focusing at infinity for all technical cameras with a flat lens board, which makes it much easier to set the aperture and the shutter speed and permits the use of the Rollei Electronic shutter.
