18. Dezember 1997 Das Parlament bewilligt einen Zusatzkredit von 17 Mio. Franken.Damit stehen der UEK insgesamt 22 Mio. Franken zur Verfügung.

Damit war der Zusatzkredit ausgeschöpft.Die verbleibenden 519 Gesuche wurden unbehandelt an die Gesuchsteller zurück geschickt.Wertvolles Innovationspotenzial ging damit verloren.
