Die MLN Krankheit ( Syn. corn lethal necrosis, CLN ) ist bekannt, alle Sorten von Mais ( Zea mays ) zu infizieren, was zu chlorotischer Marmorierung der Blätter, schweren Wachstumsstörungen und Nekrosen führt, die oft das Absterben der Pflanzen bedingen.
MLN wird durch eine Mischinfektion von Maize chlorotic mottle virus (MCMV, Gattung Machlomovirus) und Mais infizierenden Potyviren verursacht.
In Kenia und anderen Ländern ist dies am häufigsten das Sugarcane mosaic virus (SCMV).
