Der Detektor für Rückstreuelektronen ( BSE vom engl. back-scattered electrons ) liefert Informationen zur lateralen Verteilung leichter und schwerer Elemente.
Ein eingebautes energiedispersives Spektrometer ( EDS ) ermöglicht quantitative Elementanalysen unter einem Punkt, entlang einer Linie und in einer Fläche sowie die Anfertigung von Elementverteilungskarten von der zu untersuchenden Oberfläche.
