EDN was founded in Barcelona in 2009 with the mission of supporting the professional development of contemporary dancers and choreographers institutionally throughout Europe as well as strengthening and promoting dance as an art form.
Walter Heun, Director of the Tanzquartier Wien, is represented on the EDN board.
The presidency is currently held by Bertram Müller, Director of the Tanzhaus NRW in Düsseldorf.
