In 1987, the Berlinische Galerie succeeded in securing the entire photographic estate of Heinrich Zille – circa 600 works consisting of old contact prints and original glass negatives.
Following archive work and research into this Zille treasure, the complete collection was made available to the public in the publication “ Heinrich Zille.
www.berlinischegalerie.deGelten seine Zeichnungen heute in ihrer bildlichen wie sprachlichen Drastik als klassische Großstadtkunst, so sind seine Fotografien rare Dokumente großstädtischen Lebens und bemerkenswerte Zeugnisse einer frühen Moderne.
Im Jahre 1987 gelang es der Berlinischen Galerie, sich den gesamten fotografischen Nachlass von Heinrich Zille zu sichern – ungefähr 600 Aufnahmen, bestehend aus alten Kontaktabzügen und Original-Glasnegativen.
Nach Archivierung und gründlicher Erforschung dieses Zille-Schatzes wurde der gesamte Bestand in der Publikation „ Heinrich Zille.
