The whole process from dispensing the epoxy resin, through the treatment in the vacuum drying oven to the thermal curing step must be completed within four hours to prevent uncontrolled partial curing of the epoxy resin. Fig.

In series already applied natural fiber reinforced composites with natural fiber fractions between 50 % and 90 %, various thermoset and thermoplastic matrix systems such as acrylic, polyurethane or epoxy resins, as well as polypropylene are mainly used.
These biocomposites are predominantly used in semi-structural components such as door panels, instrument panels, package trays, trunk liners or seats.
