Dem ersten Band zum Vokalismus folgt in Kürze je ein Band zum Konsonantismus, zur Morphologie, zu den Familiennamen nach der Herkunft und der Wohnstätte, zu den Familiennamen aus Berufsbezeichnungen und den sogenannten Übernamen sowie zu den Familiennamen aus Rufnamen.
Das von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) geförderte Projekt läuft seit Anfang 2005 und soll bis Anfang 2012 abgeschlossen sein.
