Sofern der erste Augenschein gut ist, darf er die Stadtgrenze überschreiten; die Kolpingkapelle intoniert den Geißbockmarsch und dann geht es in frohem Zuge zu der Bühne vor dem Rathaus, wo sich der Bock im Rahmen einer Verhandlung des Hohen Stadtgerichtes einer hochnotpeinlichen Untersuchung auf sein Gehörn und seine Gebräuchlichkeit unterziehen muss.
Erst wenn der städtische Viehhofmeister seinen Spruch über die rechtmäßige Beschaffenheit der Bock-Attribute fällt, ist der Vertrag für ein weiteres Jahr erfüllt.
