Dabei darf nicht ohne Grund daran gedacht werden, daß dieser Maierhof selbst wieder auf einen vordeutschen ( römischen ) Gutshof zurückgeht, d.h. daß er den vorhandenen Kulturboden eines vordeutschen Gutsbetriebes übernommen hat.
Der Maierhof stand an dem nordöstlichen Abhang des zwischen dem Gailenbach und dem Böglegraben sich an die Schmutter heranschiebenden Höhenzuges; auf diesem lag auch das zugehörige Ackerland.
