Zu ihrer grossen Freude und unserem grossen Stolz hat Fatimetou nicht nur an den Spielen teilgenommen, sondern bei den Leichtathletikwettkämpfen im Speerwerfen sogar das Finale erreicht.
Mit ihrem 18. Rang kann Fatimetou heute stolz sein, als erste Athletin ihr Land an einem so bedeutenden Wettkampf vertreten zu haben.

And to her great pleasure and our pride, Fatimetou not only took part, she reached the finals of the athletics competition in javelin throwing.
Achieving 18th position, Fatimetou can today be really proud of having been the first athlete to represent her country in such an important competition, and of having been able to show those children who cannot get the benefit of such treatment in their own countries that it ’ s always possible to be the best.
