Das cag-T4SS von H. pylori ist während der Mausinfektion instabil, und murine T-Zellen reagieren nicht auf VacA.
Wir haben deshalb das Tiermodell der Wüstenrennmaus (Mongolische gerbils) etabliert, bei dem mit adaptierten H. pylori Stämmen eine stabile Infektion erreicht wird, die zur Ausbildung einer starken Entzündung und zu gastrointestinalen Erkrankungen führt (atrophische Gastritis, Magenulzera und Dysplasie).
