www.museenbasel.chAs a consequence of the occupation of Como by the Milanese in 1335, the Ruscas were left with just Bellinzona.
They mounted a vast insurrection against the Milanese which, however, the Viscontis succeeded in turning to their own advantage.
After a prolonged siege in 1340, Bellinzona was forced to surrender and fell into the Viscontis' hands.
www.bellinzonaunesco.chNachdem 1335 die Stadt Como von den Mailändern unter den Visconti erobert worden war, verblieb den Rusca nur noch Bellinzona.
Von hier aus planten sie einen grossen Aufstand gegen Mailand, den die Visconti aber niederschlagen konnten und zum willkommenen Anlass nahmen, sich auch Bellinzonas zu bemächtigen.
1340 fiel der feste Platz nach langer Belagerung.
