EIB Collection
The European Studies Library of the European Investment Bank and the University of Luxembourg comprises selected works from the historical library collections of the European Investment Bank and a series of press clippings concerning the activities of the Bank.
As an ensemble, the collection reflects the Bank's operational priorities and the broader political-economic context within which it operated from its foundation in 1958 until 1980.

Against the backdrop of a banner with the word “ GREVE ” ( Portuguese for “ strike ” ) held by protesters, an open hand seen in a close-up shows two coins and a tiny flyer with the word “ DIGNIDADE ” ( Portuguese for “ dignity ” ).

Bei der einen handelt es sich um das kleinformatige Schwarzweissfoto eines Zeitungsausschnitts aus dem fortlaufenden ( 1992 begonnenen ) Projekt Theory of Justice, einem Archiv von Zeitungsbildern, das Fragen von Originalität und Historizität aufwirft und den anhaltenden Kampf gegen soziale und politische Unterdrückung bezeugt.
Vor einem von Demonstranten hochgehaltenen Banner mit dem Wort „ GREVE “ ( portugiesisch für „ Streik “ ) bietet eine geöffnete Hand in Nahaufnahme zwei Münzen und ein kleines Flugblatt mit dem Wort „ DIGNIDADE “ ( portugiesisch für „ Würde “ ) dar.
