Im Vorfeld der achten Verhandlungsrunde vom 2. bis 6. Februar 2015 in Brüssel reichten europäische und amerikanische Verbände, darunter auch der VDMA, gemeinsame Vorschläge bei der EU-Kommission ein, wie Handelshemmnisse im Maschinenbau beseitigt werden können.
Nach Schätzung des VDMA könnte TTIP die Kosten für Exporte im Maschinenbau um bis zu 20 Prozent senken.

In the lead-up to the eighth round of negotiations, which will take place from 2 to 6 February 2015 in Brussels, European and US associations, including VDMA, have submitted joint proposals to the EU Commission on how trade barriers could be removed in the mechanical engineering sector.
VDMA estimates that the TTIP could cut export costs by up to 20% in the mechanical engineering industry.

Die nächste Verhandlungsrunde soll Anfang 2014 stattfinden.
