Im Schulterschluss mit mehr als 40 Akteuren aus Wissenschaft, Bildung, Wirtschaft, Handwerk und Kunst ist es den Projektverantwortlichen gelungen, nachhaltiges Denken und Handeln am Bau erfahrbar zu machen.
Die am Projekt beteiligten Sponsoren und Materialpartner wurden als Ausbildungspartner durch Schulungen und Workshops auch in die Bildungsmaßnahmen integriert.

Der Schulterschluss zwischen der Stadt Graz – Stadtbaudirektion, der TU-Graz – Institut für Städtebau und dem Land Steiermark bildet die Basis für die Abwicklung des Leitprojekts ECR – Energy City Graz-Reininghaus.
Am Forschungsteam der TU Graz sind das Institut für Städtebau, das Institut für Wärmetechnik, das Institut für Elektrische Anlagen sowie das Institut für Materialprüfung und Baustofftechnologie mit angeschlossener TVFA für Festigkeits- und Materialprüfung beteiligt.
