Die Meeresstrategie-Rahmenricht... ( MSRL ) legt, basierend auf dem Ökosystemansatz einen Rechtsrahmen fest, für das Management von menschlichen Aktivitäten in den europäischen Meeresgewässer, d. h. der Ostsee, Nord-Ost-Atlantik, Mittelmeer und Schwarzes Meer.
Die Meeresstrategie-Rahmenricht... verpflichtet die EU-Mitgliedstaaten dazu einen guten Umweltzustand ( GES ) in ihrer territorialen Meeresgewässer bis 2020 zu erreichen oder aufrechtzuerhalten.

The Marine Strategy Framework Directive ( MSFD ) establishes the regulatory framework for an ecosystem based approach to the management of human activities in the European marine waters, i.e. the Baltic Sea, North-East-Atlantic, Mediterranean Sea and Black Sea.
Under the MSFD, EU Member States are required to achieve or maintain Good Environmental Status ( GES ) in their territorial marine waters by 2020.
