Martha Vogeler wollte Traditionelles bewahren und spezialisierte sich mit ihrer Hand- und Kunstweberei auf textile Volkskunst.
Bereits vor ihrer Scheidung von dem Maler Heinrich Vogeler war sie künstlerisch tätig, danach richtete sie sich eine Weberei und ein Heimatmuseum ein und verabschiedete sich damit von der passiven Rolle als Muse und Modell für ihren Mann.
